Sligo hospital row due before Labour Court today
Nursing unions and HSE representatives are due at the Labour Court today in an attempt to resolve a dispute about staff shortages at Sligo General Hospital.
Nurses at the hospital staged strike action last week to highlight their anger at what they say are dangerously low staffing levels.
Another strike was planned for today, but it was deferred pending the outcome of the Labour Court hearing.
The HSE says it has tried to resolve the dispute, but its offers have all been rejected by the nurses.
