New phase of Dublin-Cork motorway opens ahead of schedule
The latest stretch of the Dublin-Cork motorway has been opened.
Transport Minister Noel Dempsey cut the ribbon on the €70m scheme this afternoon.
The project has been completed within budget and nine months ahead of schedule and will link the Fermoy bypass to the Cashel/Mitchelstown motorway at Kilbehenny.
It's the second-last phase of the N8 to open.
Minister Dempsey says the new road brings many benefits.
