Fresh talks aim to resolve Sligo Hospital dispute
The Labour Relations Commission is due to oversee fresh talks today aimed at resolving a dispute over staffing levels at Sligo General Hospital.
Nurses at the hospital took strike action last Thursday after initial efforts to resolve the row broke down.
The Irish Nurses Organisation says another stoppage will take place this Wednesday unless hospital management addresses concerns about major staff shortages.
The union says patient safety is being put at risk, while the HSE has accused nurses of engaging in a gross dereliction of their professional duties by undertaking an all-out strike.
