Labour vows to fight HSE plan for southern region
The Labour Party is vowing to fight any moves to transfer all acute hospital services in Cork and Kerry to just one facility.
Reports this morning say an analysis for the HSE has recommended that all acute services in the two counties be transferred to Cork University Hospitals.
This would lead to the downgrading of five other smaller facilities.
Labour Party TD Sean Sherlock says the scheme is “madness” and will be strongly resisted by local people.
