FF failing to declare large corporate donations

Fianna Fáil has reportedly received tens of thousands of euro worth of corporate donations that have not been declared to the Dáil's ethics watchdog.

Any donations above €5,080 must be reported to the Standards in Public Office Commission.

It is also illegal to receive donations of more than €6,350 from a single donor in any one year.

However, reports this morning say a comprehensive investigation of company accounts filed with the Companies Registration Office has uncovered at least €110,000 worth of largely undeclared payments.

Fianna Fáil received €7,426 from Durkan New Homes in 2006 and another €15,658 in 2007, even though both sums are above the legal limit.

Neither sum was declared to the Standards in Public Office Commission.
