NTMA aghast at extent of irresponsible lending

The head of the National Treasury Management Agency says he was aghast at the extent of the problems in Bank of Ireland and AIB.

The Government is planning to invest €7bn of taxpayers' money in the two banks in an effort to help them overcome the losses caused by their irresponsible lending practices.
