Roy Collins to be remembered in Limerick today

More than a thousand people are expected to take part in a march in Limerick today against violence in the city.

More than a thousand people are expected to take part in a march in Limerick today against violence in the city.

It has been organised by the father of murdered local businessman Roy Collins.

The 35-year-old father of two was shot dead on April 9 at his business premises in the Roxboro Shopping Centre.

His father Steve Collins believes the march - which gets underway at 3pm - gives people an opportunity to show their lack of tolerance for criminal gangs in Limerick.

He is also calling for tougher laws to deal with the gangs.

A minute's silence will be observed at today's rally for those killed in gang-related violence.
