Gormley: Ahern could be first elected Dublin mayor

Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern could have what it takes to become the first elected Mayor of Dublin, Greens leader John Gormley said today.

However, the Environment Minister said Mr Ahern will face stiff competition with many good candidates putting themselves forward for the powerful job, due to come into force in 2011.
