Hole in public finances grows to €7.3bn

The hole in the public finances has widened to more than €7bn, official figures showed today.

The Exchequer Returns for the first four months of 2009 showed a deficit of €7.3bn euro, almost double the €3.7bn shortfall for the same period last year.
