Gardaí investigate Limerick assault

Gardaí have launched an investigation into an assault on a man in Limerick City that happened between 2am and 3am yesterday morning in the Upper William Street area.

The victim, in his early 20s, was set upon by a group of men and slashed across the face.

He was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Dooradoyle, but has since been discharged.
