Govt may be forced into child benefit u-turn

The Government could reportedly be forced to abandon another one of the Budget measures aimed at plugging the massive hole in the public finances.

Reports this morning say the Coalition now looks set to introduce a flat-rate cut in child benefit payments due to legal difficulties with the plan to tax or means test the payments.
