Lorry driver killed as milk tanker ploughs into houses

A lorry driver was killed when his out-of-control milk tanker ploughed into three houses, narrowly missing several people including a mother and her sleeping teenage son, emergency services said today.

The lorry driver, who was in his 50s, died at the scene of the devastation on the main street of Emyvale village in Co. Monaghan.
