Varadkar: Mortgage relief controversy shows Cabinet incompetence
Fine Gael TD Leo Varadkar say the latest fiasco regarding mortgage interest relief shows up the incompetence of the Government.
He has accused the Taoiseach Brian Cowen of picking a Cabinet team that has proved to be out of its depth.
Deputy Varadkar says Minister Brian Lenihan told home-owners that mortgage interest relief would be suspended for two months just hours after the Revenue Commissioners confirmed a one-month suspension.
"It is one crisis after another for this Government," said Varadkar.
