PSNI probe Antrim death
Police are investigating the shooting dead of a man in the North.
The victim was gunned down shortly before 10pm last night in Templepatrick, County Antrim, in a residential area of the village.
Police have cordoned off the area close to Lyle Hill Road and Main Street and are appealing for witnesses.
Residents were left shocked by the murder on their doorsteps.
The scene is a normally-quiet part of the village, mainly Protestant and around 10 miles north of Belfast.
Nationalist assembly member Tommy Burns said: “I would want to condemn it, it brings you back to the bad old times.”
A motive has not been disclosed and investigators will comb the scene for evidence of who carried out the crime.
