Monageer marks second anniversary of Dunne tragedy

The small Co. Wexford community of Monageer is today marking the second anniversary of the deaths of the Dunne family in April 2007.

The community was gripped by tragedy when a young local couple were found dead at their home along with their two daughters just three days after visiting an undertaker to plan their own funerals.

Twenty-nine-year-old Adrian Dunne is believed to have killed his wife Ciara and the two girls - five-year-old Leanne and three-year-old Shania - before also taking his own life.

A report into the tragedy is expected to be published in the coming weeks following lengthy delays for legal reasons.

It is expected to call for a new out-of-hours emergency social work service to deal with crisis situations.
