A new website will allow European election candidates to try to emulate Barack Obama’s skilful use of the internet to drum up support from potential voters.

The brainchild of 26-year-old Trinity College Dublin graduate Paddy Cosgrave, miCandidate.ie allows politicians to create a profile, recruit volunteers, accept donations and send emails and texts.
