Govt accused of endangering safety of older people

The Carers' Association has accused the Government of putting the safety of older people in danger by withdrawing capital for security measures.

Funding for the Community Support for Older People Scheme was suspended in last week's emergency budget.

The Carers' Association says the scheme provided older people around the country with personal alarms, smoke alarms, chain locks and outside security lighting.
