Woman rescued in Maamturk mountains

A woman has been rescued in Connemara after she got into difficulty in the Maamturk mountains.

The 61-year-old sustained injuries to her lower leg and became stranded on Corcog Mountain.

The alarm was raised early this morning, and the Galway Mountain Rescue Team was dispatched.

The woman is now being treated in University Hospital Galway and is in a stable condition.
