Govt to scrap National Forum on Europe

The Government is closing down the National Forum on Europe, it emerged today.

Labour is criticising the move, which it learned about in a letter from the Taoiseach to party leader Eamon Gilmore.

Spokesperson on European Affairs Joe Costello said it could be a very short-sighted and expensive decision as Ireland faces into another referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.
