Secondary schools will this year be forced to reduce the choice of subjects because of Government cutbacks, a teacher's union claimed today.

The ASTI says as a result of the increase in the pupil-teacher ratio, schools will lose an average of two teachers each next September and this will force them to drop some subjects.
