HSE criticised over handling of medical card changes

The Irish Medical Organisation is accusing the HSE of a shambolic approach to the scrapping of the automatic medical-card entitlement for over-70s.

The HSE has deferred taking back medical cards from people who are no longer eligible, blaming a delay in informing the patients affected and their doctors.
