A plan by the authorities in the North to sell and lease back public buildings in an effort to save taxpayers' money has ended up costing an extra £13m (€14.3m) instead.

A plan by the authorities in the North to sell and lease back public buildings in an effort to save taxpayers' money has ended up costing an extra £13m (€14.3m) instead.

The failed plan would have meant selling 65 government buildings to the private sector, which would then refurbish them and lease them back to the civil service.
