The IDA has confirmed it has received three serious expressions of interest in the aircraft maintenance firm.

Six hundred redundancies came into effect at the plant at Dublin Airport yesterday.

But SIPTU is calling on Tánaiste Mary Coughlan to intervene to ensure these workers are laid off rather than made redundant so the workforce remains intact while negotiations are ongoing.

SIPTU Regional Secretary Patricia King said the IDA needs some time to continue discussions with interested parties.
