Lower-paid civil servants have voted to intensify their campaign of industrial action against the public-sector pension levy.

The decision was taken at the annual conference of the Civil and Public Service Union in Galway today.

CPSU members say they will now extend their industrial action to a number of areas, including revenue and driving-test centres.

Meanwhile, delegates at the conference also passed a motion calling on the Irish Congress of Trade Unions to organise a one-day strike among all public-sector workers.
