Hoax bomb triggers security alert in west Belfast

A suspicious object which sparked a security alert in west Belfast this morning has been declared a hoax.

A suspicious object which sparked a security alert in west Belfast this morning has been declared a hoax.

The Whiterock Road was closed after the device was found at the gates of Whiterock Leisure Centre.

British army bomb disposal experts were sent to the scene and subsequently declared the object to be a hoax.

The road has since re-opened.
