Two still in custody after €8m heroin seizure

Two men remain in garda custody this morning following a large heroin seizure in north Dublin yesterday afternoon.

Ten kilos of the drug were seized when officers stopped and searched a car at a housing estate in Bayside shortly after midday.

Gardaí say the drugs, which have been sent for purity analysis, could have a potential street value of up to €8m.

The two men detained in connection with the seizure are being questioned at garda stations in Raheny and Santry.
