Two men have been arrested following the seizure of drugs worth over €2m in north Dublin.

Two men have been arrested following the seizure of drugs worth over €2m in north Dublin.

The two men- aged 23 and 43 - were arrested in the Bayside Crescent area of Dublin 13 shortly after midday.

The arrests were made as a result of an intelligence-led operation by the Garda National Drugs Unit, assisted by the Organised Crime Unit and local Drugs Units.

Gardaí stopped and searched a car in the estate and recovered what is believed to be 10 kilos of heroin with an estimated street value of between €2m and €8m.

They are being detained at Raheny and Santry Garda Stations under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
