Ahern backs electronic tagging for sex offenders

Justice Minister Dermot Ahern has said he would like to see the electronic tagging of sex offenders introduced sooner rather than later.

Mr Ahern was speaking at a forum in Dublin on the management of convicted sex offenders, where he said he was considering new laws to improve the monitoring of offenders.
