Gogarty confirms resignation as Green spokesperson

Paul Gogarty has confirmed that he has resigned as the Green Party's education spokesperson.

The Dublin West TD says he feels his position was undermined at the party's convention at the weekend.

He says he is particularly unhappy with a decision to set up a high-level group to develop a strategy on education.

However, Mr Gogarty says he is not resigning from the Green Party or from his role as the chairperson of the Oireachtas Education Committee.
