Unions and employers to get Govt briefing on economy

Trade union and employer representatives are due to be briefed by the Government today on the deepening recession in the economy.

The meeting comes after a week of more bad news, with the number of people on the dole rising above 350,000 and several more companies announcing large-scale lay-offs.
