Family held hostage during Dublin tiger raid

The family of a bank employee have been held hostage at their home Co Kildare during a so-called tiger kidnapping overnight.

An armed gang broke into the home at Badger's Hill in Kilteel after 6pm yesterday evening.

The man was taken to a bank in Dublin city centre, where he was forced to hand over a sum of cash.

His wife and children were held at gunpoint overnight, but were released just before 8am this morning.

Nobody was injured, but the family is said to be traumatised by the ordeal.

Gardaí are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Kilteel area between 6pm and 8am.
