Controlled explosion carried out on Dublin device
Army bomb disposal experts have carried out a controlled explosion on a viable device found in north Dublin last night.
The improvised device, which contained explosive material, was found on open ground near the Clarehall Shopping Centre in Darndale.
The army's bomb disposal team arrived on the scene just after midnight and declared the area safe at around 2.30am.
Gardaí are now examining the remains of the device.
