Man shot dead in latest gangland attack in Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin have launched a murder investigation following another gangland assassination in the city last night.

The 36-year-old victim was sitting in a car in the Melrose Park area of Clondalkin when he was shot a number of times at around 8.30pm.

The attacker is believed to have fled the scene on a bicycle or a motorcycle.

Another man was also in the car at the time, but he escaped uninjured.

The area has been sealed off for a technical examination and Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
