Cowen confirms NDP will not go ahead in its original form

The Taoiseach has said the National Development Plan will not go ahead in its original form because of the downturn in the economy.

And Brian Cowen said that parts of the plan which do go ahead will have to be scaled back.

Speaking with Marian Finucane, Brian Cowen said Ireland will be able to come through the recession with the right decisions and that membership of the EU is now more important than ever.
