Handgun and cannabis found in Dublin searches

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a man in his early 20s following the seizure of a handgun a small quantity of cannabis in the west of the city yesterday evening.

The seizure was made at a house in the Corduff area.

Gardai say the cannabis seized had a potential street value of around €7,000

Seven replica firearms were also found during an earlier search on open ground in the Ballycullen area.

The two operations were carried out as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the Blanchardstown area.
