Limerick man dies following suspected assault

Gardaí are investigating the death of a Limerick man whom they believe was the victim of an assault at his home in the city.

Mickie Molloy (aged 39), a father-of-three from Garryglass Avenue in Ballinacurra Weston, died in hospital on Saturday evening.

He suffered a fracture to his skull during an incident at his home on Friday evening and Gardaí say they are satisfied he was the victim of a serious assault.

A technical examination has been carried out at his home and detectives say they are following a definite line of inquiry.

They are appealing for anyone with information about the assault to come forward.
