Drinks group Britvic Ireland is to shed 145 jobs over the next twelve months as part of a cost-cutting plan.

Drinks group Britvic Ireland is to shed 145 jobs over the next twelve months as part of a cost-cutting plan.

Most of the jobs will be lost in the sales, IT, finance and logistics departments.

The rationalisation will include the closure of depots in Cork, Ballyshannon and Waterford.

The company’s brands include Ballygowan and 7UP.

The company, which will be left with an 800-strong workforce, has blamed the decision on the economic downturn.
