Andrews 'did not receive' Roscommon incest report
Minister for Children Barry Andrews says he still has not received a report from the HSE into the circumstances surrounding the Roscommon incest case.
Barry Andrews ordered the HSE to complete a full account of the handling of the case yesterday after it emerged that the Western Health Board first became aware of the family involved in the case in 1996.
Yesterday a 40-year-old mother was sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to incest, sexual assault and neglect of her children in Co. Roscommon.
Minister Andrews says it is the most shocking case he has ever come across, adding that he will be making a decision on how to proceed with the matter once the report has been submitted to him in the coming days.
