400 jobs to be cut at Superquinn
400 jobs are to be cut at Superquinn, the company announced this afternoon.
The Dundalk store is to be closed, with the remaining redundancies to be sought throughout the rest of the country.
Superquinn, which owns 19 supermarkets and nine shopping centres, revealed the plans as part of a "Programme for Competitiveness and Change".
Chairman Simon Burke said the cuts were necessary to secure the future of the company, and to protect almost 90% of existing jobs.
