TDs and Senators to lose payments for non-attendance

TDs and Senators have agreed major changes to the Oireachtas allowance system which will result in deductions if they fail to attend parliamentary sittings and committee meetings.

The move is one of several proposed reforms aimed at bringing transparency and accountability to the way in which payments are made.
