Attempted robbery at Tipperary bank

A robbery atttempt was made at the Ulster Bank on Liberty Square, Thurles, at about 5pm his evening.

A robbery attempt was made at the Ulster Bank on Liberty Square, Thurles, at about 5pm his evening.

It is not yet clear how many people were involved in the raid but gardaí have confirmed that the gang attempted to ram the front door of the premises with a silver Toyota Land Cruiser.

It is thought the raiders may have escaped on foot although the possibility that there may have been a car waiting to pick them is not being ruled out.
