Violent groups opposed to the peace process threaten the lives of ordinary people but have no chance of affecting politics, the North's Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness warned today.

Mr McGuinness said dissident republican groups and armed loyalists should not delude themselves that their violence is capable of destabilising the peace process.
