Lithuanian remanded to Limerick Prison

A 28-year-old Lithuanian man has appeared before a special sitting of Nenagh District Court charged in connection with a fatal stabbing in the town.

A 29-year-old man, also from Lithuania, died following the incident at an apartment on St Stephen's Day.

The 28-year-old has been remanded in custody to Limerick Prison to appear before the court again on January 2.

Meanwhile, gardaí investigating the death arrested another man last night.

He is being detained at Thurles Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Two other men who were being questioned in relation to the attack have been released without charge, and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
