Spanish police investigate death of Irish woman

Spanish police are continuing their investigations into the killing of an Irish woman who was beaten to death on Christmas Eve on Tenerife.

A man was arrested for questioning after the body of 28-year-old Lisa McConway was found at her apartment.

Meanwhile police in Co. Down are continuing their inquiries into the death of an elderly woman whose body was found in her home in Newry on Christmas Day.

They have described the death of 81-year-old Marie Rankin as suspicious.
