Opening of new O2 venue causes traffic chaos in Dublin

AA Roadwatch is calling on the owners of The O2 in Dublin to ensure there is no reoccurrence of major traffic gridlock that marked the opening of the new concert venue last night.

Motorists in the capital faced delays of more than 90 minutes when rush hour traffic hit the traffic heading to the venue formerly known as the Point Theatre.

AA Roadwatch says many of those attending last night's Childline concert seemed unaware that there is no parking available at the site.

It is calling on the owners to arrange a public awareness campaign to ensure people do not try to drive to future events.
