Ninth arrest made in Dublin murder investigation

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a ninth person in connection with the murder of Aidan O'Kane in the East Wall area of the city over the weekend.

The latest detainee is an 18-year-old youth who is being questioned at the Bridewell Garda Station.

A 33-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were also held this morning in connection with the murder, while four of the six teenagers arrested earlier this week remain in Garda custody.

The other two have been released without charge.

Mr O'Kane, a 50-year-old father-of-one, was shot dead after apparently chasing a group of youths who had thrown eggs at his home.

The mechanic is believed to have had a falling out with the gang over a motorbike.

The person who pulled the trigger is believed to have been a 15-year-old boy.
