ICTU happy to have Govt talks over economy

The Irish Congress of Trade Union’s has welcomed the possibility of talks with the Taoiseach on the current state of the country's finances.

This comes after Brian Cowen's comments last night about upcoming talks with social partners.

The Taoiseach has said that they would be discussing new plans to rejuvenate the economy in the coming days.

The ICTU has said that it recognizes that there is a need to engage all sides on the issue.
