Committee to examine reduction of public-service costs

The Government is to establish a special group to look at reducing public-service numbers, the Taoiseach confirmed this afternoon.

The committee will look at expenditure programmes in each Government department, and is scheduled to make recommendations next June on where relevant changes should be made.
