Finance Minister Brian Lenihan says he is reluctant to use public money to re-capitalise the Irish banking system.

Speaking to reporters in Dublin today, Mr Lenihan said he wanted to see the banks receive funding from private interests and the Government had already been informally approached by international investors interested in buying into Irish banks.
