A jury has failed to reach a verdict in the trial of a Galway man accused of raping a neighbour in his marital home some 30 years ago.

A jury has failed to reach a verdict in the trial of a Galway man accused of raping a neighbour in his marital home some 30 years ago.

Mr Justice Peter Charleton discharged and thanked the seven men and five women for its care and attention to what he said was a difficult case. He excused them from jury service for a period of seven years.
